  • APRIL 18: The Spirit of America Gala to benefit the Brandon J. Boyd Memorial Fund will be on Saturday, April 18th at The Barn in Ligonier. Cocktails and hors-d'oeuvres will be served at 5 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM. In honor of the 250th signing of the Declaration of Independence attendees are to wear red, white, a blue attire.   • APRIL 18: LIGONIER VALLEY YMCA HOSTS ITS  ANNUAL HEALTHY KIDS DAY®, SATURDAY, APRIL 18th from 11 AM- 3 PM. This free, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage a safe, healthy and fun start to the summer season. Some featured activities include YMCA sports program samplers, open swim, intergenerational pickleball, and so much more! 
  • THROUGH APRIL 19: The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) is continuing its tradition of celebrating talented young artists in our communities and schools with its 28th year of the Artists of the 21st Century. The Ligonier exhibit will run from February 13th through April 19th. There will be an exhibition celebration from 1-4 PM on March 7th. Come out and see the work of our area’s talented young artists.
  • THROUGH APRIL 24-26: The Ligonier Valley YMCA is offering a blended cyber and in person Lifeguard Certification Course. In person sessions are April 24th-April 26th. Applicants must be at least 15 years old. The registration deadline is April 16th. Call the Y at 724-238-7580 for more information.
  • MAY 1: The Ligonier Valley Library will hold their annual Books & Brew fundraiser on Friday, May 1st from 6:00-8:00pm. Join us for an evening of live music, local authors, tasty bites, and brews from Four Seasons Brewing and Lucky Latte Cafe. Try your luck in the silent auction and basket raffle, all while supporting a great cause.Reservations are $35 each and include two drink tickets and tasting tables.
  • MAY 2: Latrobe Art Center invites the community to don their finest Derby attire and join in a brand-new Kentucky Derby Party fundraising event, taking place Saturday, May 2, from 5:00–9:00 p.m. at Cavallo Fields. This  event features an evening of southern-inspired food, themed cocktails, best Dressed contests, games of chance, and a live screening of the Kentucky Derby.   • JUNE 13: The Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Sip and Savor Walk is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th from 1- 5 PM. Sip your way around town sampling a variety of beverages and snacks.
  • JUNE 22: Save the date for the Par Tee On Classic Golf Outing at the Ligonier Country Club on Monday, June 22nd from 9 -5 PM. Contact the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce  at 724- 238-4200 for sponsorship and participation information.
  • JULY 11: Saturday, July 11th from 8 AM- 3 PM  will be Ligonier’s Diamond in the Rough all around the Diamond in Ligonier. It’s a townwide yard sale of antiques and curiosities, charming finds and yard sale gems.
  • JULY 18: Mark your calendars for July 18 as Ligonier celebrates America’s 250th in a big way! It's an evening full of fun, community spirit, and patriotic celebration for all ages. The night will wrap up with an unforgettable street dance featuring Airborne — so get ready to hit the streets and dance the night away!  And it will be topped  off with a spectacular fireworks display.
  • JULY 20: Action for Animals will host their 16th annual golf outing on Monday, July 20th at the Arnold Palmer Latrobe Country Club. Registration and breakfast is at 9 AM and the shotgun start at 10 AM. For registration information, contact Action for Animals at 724-539-2544.
  • JULY 27-31: The Compass Inn Museum Stagecoach Adventures Time Travellers Summer Day Camp July 27th -July 31st from 9 AM-2:30 PM. The camp is for children who have completed 2nd through 5th grade. Call the Compass Inn Museum to register at 724-238-4983.
  • AUGUST 7: The annual Ligonier Stroll returns on Friday, August 7th all around the Diamond. Step back into the fabulous 1950s with music, a car show, and awesome sidewalk sales.
  • AUGUST 30: The Ligonier Pet Fair,  Bark in the Boro, will be held on Sunday, August 30th from noon- 3 PM. Come to downtown Ligonier to shop from many vendors selling items for your dog or cat.

 

ONGOING EVENTS

  • PICKLE BALL: The Ligonier Valley YMCA has Pickleball Lessons for beginner and intermediate players on Tuesdays.The beginner’s class will be from 2-3 PM, and the intermediate class from 3-4 PM. Learn a new sport or enhance your Pickleball game find out more by calling the Ligonier Valley YMCA at 724-238-7580.
  • HELPING HANDS: The Helping Hands and Healing Tails Animal Rescue Shelter in Stahlstown is in great need of blankets of any size, quilts and comforters for their rescue dogs. Please no pillows or items with down feathers. Donations can be picked up. Email helpingheartshealingtails@gmail.com.
  • S.A.M.A: In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) is thrilled to announce newly expanded membership tiers designed to offer greater access, exclusive benefits, and enhanced engagement opportunities for art lovers across the region.   • READERS IN STICHES: The New Florence Community Library hosts Readers in Stitches every Wednesday at 2 PM. Stop by the library with your current stitching project and chat about the books you have been reading, share crafting ideas and tips, and find out what’s new at the library.
  • LIGONIER SOCCER: Youth and Adult Indoor Soccer will be every Sunday at the Ligonier Valley YMCA. Just drop in and be part of the game. Times are 10:15-11:15 AM for youth ages 8-14 and 11:30 AM-2 PM for adults ages 18 years and older. There is a $5 drop-in fee for every player.
