  • SEPTEMBER 9: Holy Trinity Catholic Church is hosting a classic car cruise along with its parish picnic on Sunday, September 8th. The event will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the church grounds in Ligonier. Food is available from 1:00 to 3:00 PM for a small fee and the Valley Radio Station will be there from 1- 3PM with classic music. Car pre-registration is encouraged.   • SEPTEMBER 21: The Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce invites you to The Ligonier Art Walk on Saturday, September 21st from 10AM- 7PM. Come for a stroll in historic Ligonier and view art from several prominent artists and participating galleries.
  • SEPTEMBER 22: Did you know that Canine’s can have careers? Join us the Ligonier Valley Library on Sunday, September 22 at 3:00 pm and meet a Black Bear the retired Sled Dog, Isabella the Therapy Dog, and Kilo the Ligonier Valley Police Department’s K-9 Officer. Registration is encouraged and can be done by stopping in or calling the Ligonier Valley Library at 724-238-6451. This program is free and geared towards children ages 4 and up.
  • SEPTEMBER 25-29: The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley will celebrate its 11th annual Paint Out this fall. Over the course of September 26 through 28, dozens of artists will visit the Ligonier Valley for the Museum’s popular plein air painting event. To kick off the event, Bob Bowden will be hosting a plein air workshop Wednesday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $30 per person. Following the three days of painting, the Museum will hold a wet sale on Sunday, September 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. Open to the public free of charge, the wet sale offers an opportunity to make purchases on the freshly painted works.
  • OCTOBER 1: Who’s up for a little friendly competition? Beginning on October 1st  and on the first Tuesday of every month , the Ligonier Valley Library will be hosting teen only game nights from 5-7PM The first battle will be a Wii Sports Competition!
  • OCTOBER 11-13: The annual Fort Ligonier Days celebration will be October 11th through the 13th.  This year marks the 60th year for the town wide celebration which features battle reenactments at the Fort, hundreds of craft booths, food booths, three days of live entertainment all around the town and the spectacular Saturday parade!
  • NOVEMBER 2: It’s Pumpkin Spice Ligonier, Saturday, November 2nd from 11AM-2PM. A taste of fall in Ligonier! Enjoy pumpkin foods both sweet and savory as you taste your way around town. Tickets will go on sale September 16th at the Chamber office.
  • NOVEMBER 17: The Ligonier Valley Writers will present a workshop entitled Reading Like a Writer at St. Michael's Church in Rector on Sunday, November 17. You will learn how to decipher the techniques of our favorite authors by looking at their themes, word choice, sentence structure, and so on--and how to apply their breakthroughs to your own writing.   • HERITAGE YOUTH GROUP - The Heritage United Methodist Church Youth Group, TBA,  meets Mondays from 5:30-7PM in the church youth room.  Students in grades 6-12 are invited to attend.
  • EDUCATION SOLUTIONS - Are you looking for a flexible position with holidays, evenings and weekends off? Join Ignite Education Solutions as an aide working in the school setting.   • MEALS ON WHEELS: The Ligonier Valley Meals on Wheels seeks volunteers. For more than 40 years, Ligonier Valley Meals On Wheels has served home cooked meals, Monday through Friday, to valley residents who are frail elderly, handicapped and/or living with chronic illness. This success story is due to the commitment of approximately 100 volunteers each month. Right now Meals On Wheels is in need of new recruits in the kitchen. Can you give a few hours one day a week to help prepare a meal? You will join with seasoned volunteers whose work is directed by a kitchen coordinator..   • YOUR LOCAL FIRE COMPANY: Ligonier is a community that is proud of the dedicated service of its volunteer fire companies. The dedicated men and women who volunteer have provided endless hours of emergency services for our neighborhoods and businesses.   • CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SERVICE: Each Saturday evening at 6:00PM a contemporary worship service is held at Heritage United Methodist Church located on the diamond. The weekly service includes praises songs, prayer and a homily. The service is open to the community, visitors to our community and folks from all dominations.
